On March the 2nd Abbi and I took Poppy and Danny to the Donovan park A and P show!
We got up early so we would have time to feed all the other animals (and ourselves!) and got dressed. Then we put Pop and Dan out in the neighbours paddock, with permission of course, and gave them their morning feed of 'farm feed nuggets' and went inside to change into our show cloths. After this we got the boot ready (we don't have a trailer- we know another crazy family who take their COWS to the vet in the boot!) with a tarpaulin on the floor just in case of any accidents and loaded them up! Me and Abbi had to sit in the back seat next to Noah and hold a bed roll over the goats as Mum was scared that they would try and jump over-this wasn't the first time we had done this!
Once we got there and had found a park, we let the goats out and walked over to the show grounds where the pet competition was being held. While we where waiting to be judged this girl with her pet lamb walked past us and Danny tried to head but it!
After the judging we where awarded with our ribbons and Poppy and Danny got 2nd equal! (Although, I must admit that there was only one other person with a goat there!) It was really funny on the way back to the van because we literally couldn't walk 5 meters without someone stopping to pat them!
It was SO much fun and the goats where really well behaved and handled it all really well, everyone thought they where adorable!
In the picture is me with Danny on the left, our friend and our competition Hanna with one of her goats Jubilee in the middle, and Abbi with Poppy on the right. :)

Honey!
This is where the bee keeper comes in; first they spray the hive with smoke from burning pine needles which lets the bees know he is coming (bees will sting if taken by surprise). Then he takes the wooden frames that hold the wax cells and the honey out and they go off a honey factory. There are 100's of 1000's of bees per hive, and the Queen bee will lay up to 2000 eggs a day!
At the bottling station all the jars are steam cleaned, then honey is squirted into each of them. The lids and branding stickers are put on by special machines. Then it's off to the shelves!!!

Fred, Ned, and Edd. The three hungery caterpillars
Once upon a time there where three caterpillars called Fred, Ned, and Edd. Fred is the green one, Ned is the blue one, and Edd is the white one with rainbow spots. Remember that now.
One day Fred, Ned, and Edd decided to go exploring. So they packed their lunch, said goodbye to their pet Aphids and set off.
Half an hour later as they where about to step over the boundary of the garden, they came across a lake. "That's funny!" Said Ned puzzled. "I'm sure that lake wasn't here yesterday!". Meanwhile Edd (who was carrying the lunch) started to throw bits of rock into the 'lake' when a big gust of wind came over them blowing their lunch out of the bag and into the lake! "Oh no!" Cried Edd. "Our lunch!" Exclaimed Fred.
But there was nothing they could do because the wind had sent ripples in the water which carried the bits of cabbage farther and farther out into the lake until it was all in the middle and way out of reach. "What are we going to eat for lunch now?" Asked Edd. "We'll have to find something." Replied Fred. "I know a place where there is lots of weird and wonderful food."Said Ned. "A fly told me about it the other day. But he also said it can be quit dangerous with lots of toxic gasses the can make you faint if you breath it in to much. So we'll have to careful." It was then decided that they would all go into the strange food place and try to find something to eat. "Where exactly is this place Ned?" Asked Fred. "I think he said it was this way." Said Ned. So they crawled and crawled and crawled.... and crawled some more until they came to a GINORMOUS wooden thing that almost looked like a very very high cliff. "How do we get in?" Asked Edd. "I don't know if we can to be honest!" answered Ned. "We'll have to go back and see if there is another way in." Said Fred wisely. So back they went until they came to another door... and this one was open! "Hooray!" Shouted Edd. "I told you I would find the way!" Exclaimed Ned. "Uhhhh... no. You didn't Ned." Said Fred. "Oh." Said Ned. And they crept into the house through to the kitchen where they saw the most wonderful sight in the creepy crawly world! "It's beautiful!" Cried Edd romantically. "Dig in!!!" Shouted Fred, and they all climbed up the cupboards and onto the bench where there was all the food they could possible imagine! There where apples, bread, banana's, pears, coffee beans, (which Fred soon discovered weren't to tasty) and all sorts of food packets. First, Fred tried some apple and found it alright. Then Edd tried some bread and thought that was quite tasty. And then Ned tried some garlic pearls that had been left on the bench and found that they where simply downright disgusting. It was only the that Edd discovered the most amazing thing in all of the discoverationy science in the whole caterpillary world!!! The CHOCOLATE FUDGE BISCUIT! So they ate and they ate until they could eat no more and took what was left of it home which is also where they became the most famous bugs in the whole garden, and on top of all this where knighted by the one and only Queen Verruca ruler of all bugs.
So Sir Fred, Sir Ned, and Sir Edd lived happily ever after and where no longer the three hungry caterpillars.

Poppy and Danny

Goats make great pets and you don't need to have lots of land for them - some people just keep them in stables and give them hard feed and hay!

Netherland dwarf bunnys
Nether land dwarfs are amongst the most popular types of bunny's....... and its no surprise! Being the smallest in the bunny king dome they are much easier than their bigger cousins, such as the Standard Rex rabbit, to hold, making them better pts for smaller children. They should also have small furry ears, big cute eyes, and more often then not have allot of personality! The first photo is of OUR dwarf bunny, Peter. The second photo is of two little kits. :3

| Fudge before take of |

Me and Abbi brought a big bulk lot of mouse toys on Trade me for only ten dollars and there happened to be a big yellow ball in it specially designed for mice, hamster's, gerbil's, etc. So on the the day we got them (they where in the north island so we had to get them sent here) we tried it out. First we put Mia's mouse, fudge in it and she loved it! At first she only took a couple of steps at a time but pretty soon she was racing around in it and hitting the walls and every thing because she can't steer very well. After she had a go we put Blossom in, who is Anika's mouse. she didn't go quite as fast did but she was really funny to, we even put her and Fudge in at the same time! Last of all we put me and Abbi's mice in. Their names are Mini and Squeak. as they are the oldest of our mice they were pretty slow but that was just their first go, i bet they could go way faster if they wanted to!!! It is really cool watching them run around the house in the ball. In the lot of toys we got for them there were also lots of habitrail tunnels that we have connected to our other two cages to make it even better!
